Resplendent Quetzal- Cope (Acrylic)
|
Cope provided the drawings found within A Bird-Finding Guide to Costa Rica, and is one of Costa Rica's most talented artists. He has lived his entire life in the rural Caribbean lowlands, amid the nature that inspires his art. He has never taken an art lesson in his life, and is 100% self-taught, though he possesses an amazing gift for capturing the life, attitude, and motion of a bird. Cope is also gifted with astute powers of observation, reflected in his art's extreme detail and anatomical precision. Every feather is drawn with care.
Cope's most popular mediums are pen-and-ink and acrylic. Examples of each are provided below. His work makes an ideal souvenir for a birding trip to Costa Rica, and if you are interested in commissioning a painting, use the "Contact Us" page of this site, and we can get in touch with Cope for you.
